Answer

An Answer is a court pleading in a lawsuit.  A defendant who is served with a complaint must either respond with a motion, or an answer.  In general, an Answer responds to the allegations in the Complaint.

The Answer should respond to each allegation in the Complaint.  The Answer must either admit or deny every allegation.  If the Answer does not respond to an allegation, that allegation is deemed admitted.  The Answer can admit or deny on information & belief or on lack of information & belief.
